One of the issues that have drawn heated debate in the US in the recent past is gun violence, and specifically whether to introduce stricter gun laws or not. Again, this has been met with divergent views with proponents and opponents of gun ownership laws and related violence having different opinions about the same. Gun violence can be described as violence perpetrated through the use of a small firearm (gun). Depending on the circumstance, it may be considered criminal. Data related to this issue is alarming. 44 percent of Americans know at least a victim of gun violence, with 23 percent having been victims of the same. On the same note, over 342,000 people were shot between 2008 and 2017, and proportionately equals a victim of the same after every 15 minutes. Therefore, this paper is an analysis of gun violence in the US, with the focus being measuring gun violence.
